Astrological events

Lady Sibella asked me to open a topic on astrology. So here it goes.
I'll just present the major events that are occurring in the sky. I've been following this for a year now and it has helped me so much, to gain clarity, understanding and to take steps with more confidence.

So the huge theme of this year is the Venus retrograde, which is taking place right now.

Venus is the planet of beauty, love, romance, self love, pleasure, joy and money.

It retrogrades in the sign of Leo, which embodies kind of the same things, self love, love, beauty and respect.

A retrograde is when the planets get affected in their rhythm because they are all at different distances one from the others and move at different paces and it can seem sometimes that one is going backwards (but of course they don't). So retrograde means to go over a certain path again.


Venus in Leo is all about: how am I respected and how do I respect myself? What is my sense of beauty? What is the meaning of value to me, is it the superficial and flashy or is it the beauty of the material, the care in the making and the feel of it?


So Venus is travelling 3 times on one path.
First she travels in the sign of Leo, one way forward. That is called 'shadow'.
Then she will retrograde, that is she will 'move back' on the same path again.
And after that she will go over that one path, forward again, thus being in shadow again.

Venus first entered shadow in Leo on 22nd June.
Then she started the retrograde on 25th July, going at 0° in Virgo, so just dipping a toe into Virgo and staying there for the last 2 weeks of July then back again in Leo.
Then on 5th September Venus will go direct again. She will thus travel back the path where she was when she first entered shadow, she will stand still and then go direct again. That will be when her energy will be felt the most, and the lessons, issues that this planet is trying to bring into our lives will be that much stronger, with more clarity arising too, in love, self love and worth and money regarding what was happening when she was direct.
And finally she will end shadow on 9th October, so at that time the lessons that were coming into your life around late July will get their final burst of clarity so that we will now be able to move forward in theses matters of love, self love and money, enriched by all this new light that has been made within us.  


Venus retrograde in Leo:
Venus is the symbol of love, and more broadly of what we are open to receive in our lives, what do we allow ourselves to experience and accept. This is based on what we believe that we deserve, how worthy of receiving we believe deep down that we are.  So it can be 'what do I allow myself to receive and enjoy in love?'.

Then Leo is the king of the jungle. Venus coupled with Leo demand respect. So, in love, how do I get or give myself the respect that I truly deserve? It comes down to wanting to feel that we matter, that we are important. So during the retrograde, Venus in Leo will ask us to look in our lives: 'what does respect mean to me?' 'How can I be respected and loved?' 'Is my notion of respect based on mutual respect or on one dominating the other?' 'Do I believe I have to be a king in order to be loved or respected?' 'Do I believe I need to be more, do more in order to be respected or loved?'
So Venus is going to teach us lessons about this in very personal ways for each of us, depending on our individual chart.

As part of this lesson, there could be a lover from the past coming back into our lives, in order for us to get a different perspective on them, or see them in a different way. It could be a chance to see how this person has changed us or how we never really fully saw that person before, seeing only what we wanted to see... So that new perspective is meant to bring healing to ourselves, to close a chapter.


Venus is close to the earth during the retrograde, so the passion is very high and we could also meet someone new, start a new relationship because we want to feel special, loved, we want passion to feel alive.
The only thing is that since Venus is retrograde and shadow, there is something we are missing. We are not seeing the person exactly as he/she is, there is a part of them we don't know about. It does not have to be bad, but this is what happens. The nature of the relationship (fleeting or long term) will depend on the individual chart...
But in any case, it is quite likely that things get actually better than we had thought because Jupiter is also in the picture, conjunct with Venus. Jupiter is the lucky provider. There will be 3 conjunctions of Jupiter with Venus: in beginning July, late August and in October. That indicates very great things coming, great blessings. Jupiter and Venus bring us towards a deepened understanding of what love is. So, with this retrograde, there could be a lot of passion in the new relationship, but later when Venus is direct again (sept/oct), another side of the person is revealed and our bond gets that much stronger and deeper than the feel of passion.


Venus is the goddess of love, so when she is retrograde it is not the best time to get married, in order to maximise the chances of a very long term partnership. And there could also be people who decide to re-marry when Venus is direct again.


In work, if you start a business under a Venus retrograde, there could be an aspect about money or value that you will need to re-evaluate when she goes direct again because something was missing from the bigger picture.


Venus is also about beauty. So if you want to change your look, beautify yourself, the retrograde is not the best moment to make dramatic changes you feel making, as you might end up thinking what was I thinking and just leaving (or regretting) that when she is direct again. If you want to make a big change in your look (hair, tattoo, surgery etc) wait until October!



To sum up, the retrograde is a wonderful time to start considering how you prevent yourself from receiving, whether a massage, a present, love or joy. Where do you not allow yourself to receive all this? Those will be questions that you'll start thinking about during the retrograde.


The Venus retrograde will affect those born around the 5th even more, but all of us will be affected in huge ways as usually a planet goes retrograde for about 2 weeks and here Venus is retrograde for almost 2 months!

  i'm gonna be able to keep up with what is going on above!   the only planet retrograde that i succeed to keep up with is Mercury because it is always mentioned in my Almanac, but i always miss the others!

You're very welcome. Sure Mercury usually gets the focus. But this is quite an exceptional event as usually a planet goes retrograde for about 2 weeks while this year Venus is retrograde for almost 6 weeks, so there really is a lesson worth being aware of

So yes, now open your eyes, see what's happening (and repeating itself) in love, self love and money!

Yes, it is indeed... Time to shine like you should

Ok, so this week there are great stuff going on in the sky!

For one: Venus is now going direct!! End of the retrograde... As of the 5th September, Venus will indeed stand still and walk forward again, even if she will still be in shadow for a few weeks.

That means: clarity over what has been going on in your lives around June. And also we will feel propelled to move towards the desires of our heart.

Second thing, Venus will be meeting Mars, therefore the cosmic couple will be together in the sky. This happens once a year.
That means passion and romantic feelings (especially for Aries (like me), Taurus and Leo (my boyfriend!!).
It can also trigger an awakening in the field of love.


Then in the early days of the month, the sun is going to be speaking with Neptune and then very harmoniously with Pluto. We'll be given great power for change, to improve our lives.

Sun - Neptune could lead us to look at things with honesty, acknowledge what we have tried to avoid.

Sun - Pluto: might be some surprise, but with a lot of desire to make things change to a better direction.

Then at the end of the month, there will be a lunar eclipse. Eclipses mean emotions coming up to the surface...

Sorry I don't have so much time, but here are some interesting things taking place in the sky at the moment.

We are having some very active skies for the moment. These configurations give us all the support to make big changes. We are supported in closing old chapters, letting go of what no longer is in order to move forward to a more richer destiny. All of this should start coming together in late October.



So, we are still in the Venus retrograde season since Venus has now moved direct but still in shadow. That means she is now walking the path she was on in late June, then she went back on that path, that was the retrograde and now she is walking the same path again, but direct.
That means we are still learning the same lesson, this time coming over it and gaining more clarity and understanding about it.

In late October she will finally have completed that retrograde season and things in the matter of love and finances will get more light and will be able to move on.



This is also the eclipse season. Last week we had a solar eclipse. Next week we'll have a lunar eclipse.
It is said that when we are in the middle of eclipses like this, the veil between the worlds in the thinnest, which means that this is the moment when we can be connected the most.
So, plug in to Source, meditate, pray, connect with your ancestors or with spirit guides, do whatever works for you. Your intuition and intuitive understanding should be the highest now.

So, eclipses bring us back to alignment on a path of a more loving path. It is a time when we eclipse what is in the past. So, the further off we have gone from our path, the more dramatically we will be brought back.
Eclipses can also bring about breakthroughs.

A word on eclipses: they eclipse what no longer is, thus bring about the end of something or trigger change.
A solar eclipse affects our vitality and our self-confidence. It shows us what can no longer go on. And it can bring up difficulties with the father.
A lunar eclipse affects our feeling of security and can bring difficulties with money or the family. It also can cause problems with the mother.


A big event too, Jupiter has moved accross Neptune. This happens only once every 13 years!
This aspect asks us to be honest with ourselves. That means that we will need to acknowledge the disappointments and where it is these have actually been wise for us.
So either:
** ok, I'm disappointed but I can see I'm in fact better off.
** I feel so disappointed that there is something I actually need to mourn for a while.
** Or I feel that what I want is far and it seems even unattainable. If you feel this, either this is not the right path for you  and the Universe has a greater plan in store for you. Or you'll need to work harder, be clearer about what you want in order to find your way forward. (I know I'm in this phase...)




And of course Mercury is retrograde, as part of a 3-phases period, the last one will be in late October.
So, for now we need to pay attention as we'll get a chance to solve whatever is going on now in October, either to go the same way we are on now or to embrace a new path with trust.

Yep, for Mercury Retrograde i was about to post on it, as this is something i'm aware of. It started Sept 17th and will end Oct 9th. I'm careful with communication, i know mistakes come easily during that period.

Well i had 2 days of Mercury Retrograde's effect of things going south!
on Wednesday, i had several errands to buy farm supplies and repair one of our baler's belt... things went totally wacco! Fortunately, i was ready for it and on top of the situation which helped a lot. i'm glad i did check on the guy who was about to load my car with the wrong netwrap, etc... and this day it was about communication also, as i had called before leaving knowing it takes me about 20/25 mn to reach the store, to find out if they had the specific brand we use... the guy checked and assured me that he had 8 of them, i again asked if it was the brand we wanted and he said yes. Arrive over there and like i said he loads the wrong brand, i tell him then he could not find the so called 8 that were left, ended up being the wrong size when I had specified the size to him! lost quite some time, in the end i saw one roll of what i wanted and pointed it out to him... anyhow, at the cashier she almost made a big mistake with my debit card, etc...
And yesterday, buying groceries i could have been paying a lot more for 3 items! again I was glad to be on top of things... It is not the first time that it happens like that when Mercury is Retrograde, so i'm sure ultra careful.

Yep, New moon for where i live starts at 7:54 pm tonight. I like to make my check of abundance within the next hour of the New Moon but it'll be too late so too bad this time it'll have to wait tomorrow morning. I've been getting really get results with the check of abundance getting stuff done!

Yeah, i checked today and for my state and time zone it's gonna be today so March 8th at 7:54 pm so tonight, but as it's late i'll do it tomorrow morning it is said you have 24 hr...

We will have a new moon in Pisces on March, 9th. A new moon indicates the time for you to plant your seed. The full moon allows for a greater awareness as the light of the moon shines in the darkness of the night. The new moon invites us to begin new things. If you have an idea or project you would like to start, make your wish under the new moon.

This particular new moon in Pisces asks us to move to a quantum thinking, where time and space can be bent at will. It may encourage you to consider that maybe what you think is not the only possibility…

I'm not really "learning" about it either but I find it very useful for me, for my clients and in my readings, so I watch a lot of videos about astrological forecasts and read about the influences for the month or the week, plus I have bought a moon agenda on purpose to get to know more about it all. So I'm more relaying than really doing all the background work. Though getting all the info and then summarizing it and all does take quite some time... But I guess it does not matter, what matters is to have the info, and of course I am learning along the way
